I ♥ Sleep

This is the first adult book I ever read and subsequently one of my favourites.

Having devoured House of Sleep at a young age, I set my sights on reading every novel Coe had to offer and yes I loved them all too. Particularly What a Carve Up!, based loosely on the same titled murder mystery film starring Sid James and Kenneth Conner, and The Accidental Woman.

Castle in my mind

I'm a major Miyazaki fan. Castle in the Sky was the first of his films I watched.

I fell in love with it.

But it took me around 10 years to find out what the name of the film was. All I had to go on was my memory of a robot, a Eden esque garden and a girl who wore a necklace.

For those who haven't watched a Miyazaki film I encourage you to do so, after all he is Japan's answer to Disney.

I got tickets last week for her gig in November and I'm very excited about it.

I've been listening to the album and love her voice.

Secretly I love her even more because she was in St Trinian's and The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus.

I ♥ Cupcakes

Today my Grandma brought me the hummingbird bakery cook book as an early Christmas present.

I've been lusting over this book for months now and am looking forward to perfecting my red velvet.

I always remember this scene and the way Jean-Paul Belmondo rubs his fingers across his lips, supposedly an homage to Bogart.

Today I went to the Shake It: An Instant History of the Polaroid exhibion.

Some of the pictures where really amazing.

My favourites being Juergen Teller's of Sophia Coppola for Marc Jacobs.

The shots are so dreamy.

The cold shoulder

Loving that shoulders pads are back on the market.

I'm aiming to wear mine as big as these guys.

Numero cinq

I was thinking about this advert the other day.

It's one of my favourites.

Little did I know that it was directed by Luc Bresson and the music is by Danny Elfman.

What a Mega Drive...

Games will never be as good as they were on the Mega Drive.



Note that MJ runs around finding lost children and grabbing his crutch when he does. This game came out between 1989-1990. His trial against Jordan Chandler was 3-4 years later in 1993.

It might not seem like much but this is an amazing film.

Add some real gangs as extras.

These two tracks although not on the album are too good.

Something I could never be late for and will probably fall in love with.

More than meets the eye

I saw this photograph by Carol Jerrems (the one Juliet is so nicely holding), in the Art Gallery of New South Wales when I was 16. I brought the poster and the postcard. One of which has hung up in every room I've had since.

The reason I didn't put the original on?

Because I think I prefer this one. I've appreciated Vale Street #2 for the last 8 years. It's nice to see a little more of it. Like a deleted scene or an extra chapter if you will.
