Antlers for christmas
These belonged to Angus. A taxidermy stag head that belonged to my Dad and was named after his Dad. They became mine at Christmas. Nearly 100 years old, they will soon be featuring on my bedroom wall. Once I have worked out how to attach them!

Built in 1984, Space Invader 2 was an enclosed roller coaster at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. In 2000 a 11 year old child fell out of the ride and died. In 2008 it was closed and in June 2010 removed from the park. When I first went to the park I was too young to go on the ride. When I was old enough it was was amazing if only because I knew it was somewhat dangerous. For a behind the scenes of the ride (Yes at times I am that sad) take a look at it here.
Sanzhi: The future that never was
Unknown
The Sanchi UFO houses in Taiwan where abandoned during their construction in the the early 80's. Created as a vacation resort, which was never used, the buildings where sadly pulled down in 2010. For a look at some really beautiful photographs of the site go here.

Abandandoned hope
I have somewhat obsession with abandoned theme parks, buildings, hospitals, towns. Anything that has let nature run it's course and gone wild. So sometimes I just search for pictures of them. Yesterday I found this site and fell a little in love. Above are a selection of some of my favourites. I wish I could read more on the photographer or even work out what his name is!

Back to the museum
The above pictures are taken from the series Skeletons in the Closet by Klaus Pilcher. Pilcher was inspired to start the project when he walked past Vienna's Natural History Museum one evening. Peering through a window he was faced with a solitary Antelope which begged the question, what goes on behind the scenes of museum? The ongoing project shows a whole manor of beasts, the above ones being my favourites.

I think I want them all! I may have to settle however for some of his cute cards or even accordion book kits.
