A rare breed

A few weeks ago I went to an exhibition called Modern Panic. A collection of 50 plus artists set in an Old Abattoir in Clerkenwell. The whole place reminded me of the art squats in Berlin. While some of the pieces where thought provoking and original others felt like they were done by members of the local insane asylum.

I had gone specifically to see the work of Charlie Tuesday Gates, who practises DIY Taxidermy. I was not disappointed. However I found myself being most enthralled by the work of Iris Schieferstein. Stitching together animals to create new breeds, her work could be seen as somewhat gruesome but not by me. I bloody loved it. I took a few snaps so see what you think!

The perfect Parr

I think this is a beautiful shoot from Martin Parr for Urban Outfitters Summer 2011 lookbook. Instantly recognisable as both being taken in Marrakesh, the colours are quintessential Parr and show a great new collection from UO. However saying that, my favourite image is that of the teeth.

A Royal tea party

My wierd addiction to all things Royal has been fueled in the past fortnight by the charity shops of Camden. These new beauties will be making an appearance at a tea party soon ; )

More then meets the eye

Composed of dead crows, magpies, a rat and a even a rattlesnake this is Tim Noble and Sue Websters take on the late Isabella Blow. Included in the piece there is also a lipstick tube and even a Manolo Blahnik heel. When lit in the right way the combination creates the silhouette of Bow. Currently exhibited at The National Portraits Gallery until 13 March 2011, its well worth a visit. Note though, you will get told off if you try and take a photo of it!
