Unfinished business

In my first year of university I decided that I would permanently borrow enough fridge magnets to spell out my name.

I only got this far.

I'm thinking I resume me quest.

Now to find someone with fridge magnets...

I don't really listen to the radio.

If had one of these I would.

I envisage myself switching it on and being transformed into a 50's style housewife.

Having a mini disco to Elvis, The Sha-na-na's, Mathra Reeves and the Vandellas, Frankie Vallie & The Four Seasons and so on.

General fun times.

"Now, take me to your leader. Or, lead me to your taker. "

From a young age I have been a major fan of The Avengers.

I must however clarify from the start that I am a fan of the original cast aka Patrick Macnee and Diana Rigg. I never could stand that silly Linda Thorson or anyone else that followed in her footsteps. It just never felt right. The chemistry had gone.

I would watch re-runs constantly on Bravo and I'm pretty sure I was the only one of my age doing this! Perhaps this is where I get my extreme Britishness from?

I'm not sure how old I was (maybe about 9-10) but one year for my birthday, I was given two fish, my first proper pets, I named them Emma and Steed. Steed only had one eye but seemed to live as happy a life a goldfish can have.

One of my favourite episodes was 'The House That Jack Built', but, I truly do love them all.

Hmm searching for pictures of has really made me want a bowler hat.

Channeling my inner Oliver, I've been baking a lot of late.

Hardly surprising I look more at the pictures rather then the actual recipes.

Somewhat alarmingly I've found myself really loving a photo of a dead rabbit in one of his books.

In light of my new hobby I felt inspired to take some of my own foodie photos, so here is my first batch.

Fresh from the South bank market.

True I am not a 7 year old boy.

Why what big shoulders you have...

"That's a rather glitzy top your wearing Lauren. Are you going out this evening?"

"No, it's a Friday so I thought I would wear shoulder pads."

I didn't add because I'm currently addicted to them Ala Dynasty.

And that to be honest the bigger the better!

"I'm gonna hit you so hard that when you wake up your clothes will be out of style! "

One word: Classic.

Here are the scenes that didn't make it in the final cut.

I like it that they didn't.

It made discovering them when I was 16 so sweet.

The best part of this scene? That they still refer to it the final cut.

I can't work out why I feel so attached to Monet's water nympheas series.

They are my favourite series of paintings and cement my love of impressionism.
